Diman History
Reverand John Hugh Diman (1863-1949) had a dream to provide vocational education in Fall River. In August of 1912, he attended a Fall River school committee meeting where he offered to equip and supply vocational instruction for one year with a personal donation of $2500. One room was supplied by the school committee at the McDonough School. For three years, Father Diman supervised the program and visited the class weekly.
The first separate building for vocational did not come about until 1915, with the use of the Kennedy Building on Bank Street across from the Armory. The Fall River school committee voted to name the school after its benefactor, Father Diman.

President's Message
"As a 1981 graduate from the plumbing program, I immediately began my career working in the trade. I often reflect back on the path of my career and realize how important my Diman education played a role on where I am today. Without my Diman education, I'm not sure how my working career would have unfolded. With that said, it's an honor to be the president of the Alumni Association in order to be able to give back to such a great institution that helped me as a young man so many years ago. It gives me great satisfaction to support the school and its administration, the teaching staff, the student body, and the graduating seniors as they begin their future endeavors."– John Viveiros
